The police have learned that around 12:40 a.m. on Wednesday, a man forcibly entered a nursing home in Bateau Bay, Central Coast, New South Wales, and subsequently assaulted a woman.
On Monday night, a 34-year-old man was apprehended at a residence near Caves Beach, Lake Macquarie, and has been charged with a series of serious offenses, including committing violent acts leading to prosecutable charges.
According to the authorities, the man fled through the property's rear door and was apprehended after jumping over a fence. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries to his arm.
Subsequently, he was denied bail and is scheduled to appear in Belmont Local Court on Tuesday. Following the incident, the assaulted woman suffered severe trauma, with injuries to her legs, arms, and head. Due to her advanced age, the skin in pressure areas is at risk of severe tearing, and she is currently receiving care from family and medical personnel.
The nursing home has employed additional security personnel to ensure the safety of residents. According to the police investigation, there appears to be no prior connection between Crawford, the woman, or the elderly care institution before the so-called assault occurred. |
